Led by archaeologist Sophia Morong, this class is an introduction to the science done at the Whydah Pirate Museum. Children who sign up will have a hands on experience in archaeology and learn the importance of preserving history!
Sophia Morong is an expedition archaeologist and conservator for the Whydah Pirate Museum. She received her degree in Anthropology with a concentration in Biological Anthropology from George Washington University. In addition to working with Expedition Whydah, she has also conducted research in Koobi Fora, Kenya and at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C.
